Perfect for my purpose.
I didn't buy these for ice - and probably would not anyway, since they would make really small cubes. Plus you'd need a boatload of the trays to make enough ice for any occasion I can think of. However, they are perfect for what I bought them for. I LOVE using homemade roasted garlic in dishes that call for garlic, but am not terribly excited to stink up the house that often. SO, my brilliant idea was to roast 3-5 bulbs (drizzle with olive oil, wrap in foil, roast for 45 min at 350 degrees). Then I use a mini food processor to puree the garlic, freeze it in these silicone ice cube trays, then remove and store in an airtight container. I figure each cube is approximately one clove of garlic...but as avid garlic fans know, roasted garlic is mellower in flavor so you can use more without overpowering the food.

Teensy Lil Cubes
I like me some fancy fun-shaped ice cubes but many of the silicon trays make it a cold-finger-bustin experience. And I'm always spilling water from the trays on the floor and in the freezer. These are excellent to fill AND transport - no spills at all. Like they say, pull them out of the freezer for 60-90 seconds or so - but not much longer cuz they melt so fast. I empty them into a big-enough small mixing bowl I keep in my freezer. Hold it upside down and bend it in a U-shape and roll it back and forth.
Toxic taste to ice cubes
I gave these items 2 stars because the cubes are easy to get out once you let them sit for a few moments. But for taste, I give them 0 stars. I purchased these because I wanted small ice cubes to munch on (I love to munch on ice). I was happy with them until I tasted the ice cubes. They had a funny plastic, toxic taste. I thought that maybe because they were new that that would wear off with use, but it didn't. The cubes still taste toxic 6 months later. I haven't seen any of the other reviews say that this has happened to them. Maybe I'm the unlucky one. I am returning them for a refund because I am really afraid to continue eating the cubes. I have never purchased silicone products before and maybe they all have this taste, but it makes me fearful. Are these made in China?...just asking.
